Books, Books, Books

I've now read all 3 books, all set in Lewis and not quite as good as the first one but still worth a read

Old Macdonald had a birthday

The wee man was 1 today and this is his card - all coloured in Gimp with My Minds Eye cloud paper and a Tim Holtz ironworks die for the fence.

Note to self make sure that once folded flat you still have an envelope to post it in :0)
Animals are a freebie from HERE
I did put a 1 on it using a Sizzix die and a spikey circle to make a sun type thing but forgot to take an after picture - oops!

Teddy Bo Tuesday

Kind of hot here probably because I spent most of the last 2 days in the car - so summer will be over sometime in the next few minutes as I don't have much planned for today.

We have a new challenge over at the Teddy Bo Challenge today of masculine with buttons and string I've made a tiny 4 inch card and crammed it with:

Paper: Cosmo cricket
Sentiment: Imagine That Stamps
Woodware Postage Stamp Punch, Boofle Embossing folder

Fairytale Friday Again

It was so miserable on Monday afternoon when I made this that I got a bit carried away with the bright colours lol!
Fortunately tall child hadn't wanted to go on the trip to the theme park as it was throwing it down with rain and most of the kids on the bus were sick - Nice Not!

Paper: DCWV

Buttons: Sew Sweet

Don't forget the current challenge over at Teddy Bo is Christmas in July and you still have a couple of days to enter.

Must Read

I really struggled to put this down and read it in less than 24 hours - it does only have 190 pages though.
The blurb on the front says Powerful, Shocking, Heartbreaking and it lives up to it.

The thing that really surprised me was that hubby read it although it is set on Lewis where his family come from

Another Ignored Tilda

Dodgy weather here again today - guess we had our summer on 28th May!!
That's my excuse for my fuzzy picture anyway :c)
EDIT: I took a new pic but it's still a tad furry - hey ho!

The layout is from Frosted Designs
There are 2 lots of 3 things as hubby would say for the Love to Create Challenge
and Lavender and Lace for the Anything Goes challenge
I've dug out some capsule collection papers and this Tilda stamp for the Incy Wincy Dust it off theme
so I would like to enter my soft focussed card into those challenge please.

Teddy Bo Tuesday

We have a new release and a new challenge over at Teddy Bo this week and the theme is Christmas in July - not too much of a challenge as the weather has been really summery lately - NOT
I'm so glad I didn't buy any new flip flops this year as I hate having soggy feet lol!

No card from me this week as it's Team B's turn to host so nip over to the challenge blog
and see what my team mates have made.................................

Melinda with Bouquet

I've been seeing lots of clock stamps everywhere and just before I bought one I dug through my stamps and found this large one by B Line Designs.
I'm really enjoying combining several different stamps at the mo and oddly for me I've been using lots of layers just recently too.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Cutie Pie - glitter and bling - the clock has irridescent embossing powder, there are pearls in the flowers and the paper is sparkly
Sentimental Sundays - Bingo - middle vertical line pearls, flowers, stamp
Card Making Mamas - Rubber - Whiff of Joy, Whimsy Sentiment, Clock

Freshly Made Today

Sometimes new stamps sit in my pile for ages - I've been after this one for absolutely ages and beat off the opposition on eBay with a stick lol! She arrived Saturday morning and I've been waiting for MIL and hubby to leave so I could play.

Bouncing Bears

Confession time - I've had this stamp uninked since I went to the LOTV colouring class in Harrogate last October - smack on wrist.
I have made myself use my First Edition up up and away papers so that must be a brownie point :c)

The layout is from Sketch and  and I would also like to enter the Anything Goes challenge at Lilis Little Fairies
as well as the summer challenge at Papercrafting Journey and Forever Friends as I'm sure my tall child will feel like this at the beginning of the holidays lol!
Although it's far too hot and muggy today for anything approaching bouncing!

Hugs

At last the final piece is finished - I can't now decide between lilac or red for the backing

Will think about it...................................

Sorry for the awful pun - I seem to have a lot of birthdays in July and Mother in Law is visiting at the weekend so I'm having a cleaning frenzy :0)

Hugs for Teddy Bo Tuesday

We're still celebrating over at Teddy Bo this week - not sure exactly what I'm celebrating here but you never need an excuse for a hug. Bo is in touch with his feminine side today as I love dusky pink and brown together and he was too busy worrying about getting his legs back to notice.

Image: TEDDYBO_203 - you do get legs too!

Book to Read

If you like policy murdery thrillery type then you should read this.
I refused to put it down until I'd finished it last night much to hubby's disgust as I ignored him.

I just realised I hadn't mentioned any books for a while probably coz I've been reading several out of a Cornish Family saga by Kate Tremayne all called Loveday _________ something. I enjoyed them as they're in the same kind of vein as E.V.Thompson the one in the pic is Loveday 11.

Bookmarked Hugs

Free Bear

Just a quickie today - someone ate my weekend and I only just managed to get my washing in before it got another rinse..........

This unbelievably cute bear is a Freebie on Whimsy artist Stamp Art Design by Kathryne's Blog
I finally used my Marianne bird and fence dies. The green branch thingy is a Joy craft Flourish die from Teddy Bo.
Paper is Back to Basics III

Soggy hugs yet again

A Scottish Birthday

I really wish my Father-In-laws birthday was further away from Father's day as I really struggle for 2 Scottish themed cards in 2 weeks - maybe I should start earlier in future.............

This is a picture of Stornoway from years and years ago, the thistle is from Dimension Forth and the greeting is from a Kanban set. Paper is from my huge My Minds Eye Bohmemia pad

We've just spent hours cleaning the weeds from between the gaps in the block paved drive. My rain dance didn't work lol! It does look a lot better now and following it up with a trip to the tip was just magic :0)

Sunday Hugs
Debbie xx

PS a great big wave to my new followers - pull up a chair and wander through my fur based world LOL!
