60th Birthday Card

I really first got into cardmaking as 2 of my friends did it so was "encouraged" to join in. Now one of said friends (who this card is for) bribes me to make cards for her by paying me in cake. Hard to refuse so when she requested a 60th card for a friend of hers, I could hardly say no as she makes a victoria sponge to die for lol!

This cute image is my new Lili of the Valley stamp which I heat embossed as the ridge helps me not to go over the lines with my Promarkers ;c). I've also used a Personal Impressions mixed sentiments stamp and the mega scallop circles that I bought on Sunday.

The papers are K&C Classic Mckenna, the numbers are Sizzix Alphabubbles and the embossing is a Cuttlebug folder which is part of the Love Language Set

I would like to enter it into the following challenges:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - sketch
Whoopsi Daisy - vibrant colours
Creative Craft Challenges - stamp it up
Magical Crafts - flower power
The Crafty Pad - embossing

Bear Name Tag

3 weeks ago I bought DD a new lunch bag as she was going on yet another school trip and had decided she was too old for her pink gingham Dalmatian dog one!
Unfortunately several people in her class have the same one so I said I would make her a name tag. The trip was on Monday - guess what I was doing at 9 o'clock Sunday night lol!

Girly Birthday Card - NOT!

My daughter is the least girly girl I know - even worse than me lol! So she has equally girly friends! I asked her what her friend liked so I could make her a birthday card and the answer was - Spongebob :c)
Hence I made a Spongebob card. To make it a bit more interesting I decided to make an open swing top card to hold her cash pressie kind of using the tutorial here

Me being me however I didn't write down the measurements and couldn't be bothered to wander back to my lappy to check so made it to fit the envelope that I had handy with a bit of muttering when I couldn't get the swing bit to sit straight lol!

Embossing is cuttlebug folders Distressed Stripe and tiny bubbles.

Sale Sale Sale!

There's a 30% sale starting tomorrow over at the I Did it Creations Shop. I've used papers (which were a special DT edition) on this card from Toucan Scraps so you won't be able to get these but there are some other fantastic designs plus digi stamps, scrapping kits and loads of other stuff from loads of great creators. Why not hop over and have a look and you can buy almost 3 times as much for your pennies :c)

This Lili of the Valley image was sent to me by fellow One Stitch at a Time DT member Choccy  and coloured with Promarkers. The embossing is my new Polka Dots cuttlebug folder. Sentiment by Craftwork Cards from The Glitterpot

Padlets

I have a love hate relationship with my printer - I love to use digi so it's essential, it hates to do as it's told - so every so often it decides to print things smaller than I intended lol! I've promised myself craft time every day this week but couldn't decide what to do found these little guys and some scraps. They were too big to fit on scraplings so for want of a better term I've decided to call them Padlets :c) - they are made with offcuts from card blanks that were feeling unloved!

From the left -
This one is made with Stitchy's Dino image, the 4 U are stamps from 2 different sets by Stamps Away coloured in with promarkers and I added stitching round the outside.
I would like to enter him into:

Stash Diet is well and truly over!

I went to the Stampmagic show at Doncaster this morning - 4 minutes before it opened I was about 2 miles away then I spotted a dreaded diversion sign - 45 mins later after being stuck in a queue past the racecourse as they were doing the Race for Life there I finally pulled into the car park at The Dome (was very grateful I had OH's card with aircon!)
Needless to say it was packed and had forgotten how sharp crafters elbows are consulted my list and off I went. TBH it was far too hot to really stop and have a look at any demos so was out after an hour and a half. The only 2 things that I didn't get were the Craftwork cards digi card as they didn't take any with them (grrr!) and the Martha Stewart embossed zig zag punch so bought the EK Sucess paw print one which had been out of stock everywhere when I was checking prices. With my bear "problem" I'm sure I'll get plenty of use from it.
Yes I did pay a little more for some things than I would have done if I'd ordered online but as I'm off work this week I wanted to play rather than keep the postie in a job LOL!

OSAAT - Stars & Stripes

Something new for me today - my very first proper DT card for One Stitch at a Time! The theme this week is stars or stripes or both - so decided to use both as I wanted to make a good impression lol!
I was lucky enough to work with Lexi Creations and chose this fab image called Footie Ali which is available here at Stitchy Bear Stamps

I used the current layout from Sketch and stash and fished out a cuttlebug star die to add to my Buzzcraft stripy paper. The stars and the gold strip are embossed with swiss dots and the sentiment is one I made all by myself and cut out lol!

I would also like to enter it into:

Standing Stones

Every year my husband challenges me to make a "Scottish" birthday card for his dad and every year I have to come up with something different so here's this year's offering.

I pyramaged the image by printing it twice cutting them both to the same size and then trimming half an inch from each side of the top one (was great fun lining it up Not!)

I haven't used any paper on this one the image is layered onto strips of whitewash co-ordinations embossed with the distressed stripe embossing folder and then sanded (boy did that dust go a long way)

I would like to enter it into these challenges:
Truly Scrumptious - sketch
Creative Card Crew - easel card
Donna's Den - Happy Birthday
Lexi's Creations - Something old - the image is of the Callanish standing stones on the Isle of Lewis where the family comes from - if they're not quite old enough the thistles and leaves have been in a box for nearly 3 years as I bought them to decorate my wedding cake but had me to you nears instead lol!

Money Holder

Lots of people on MSE have been making seed packets but having absolutely no interest in gardening so I decided to make a money wallet - as I'm very interested in that LOL! I've made it purple as it's the current them of the challenge over there as well.

This is a view of the inside decorated with the reverse of the Chatterbox Violet Paisley paper that was also used on the outside. I had to borrow the money from DD as I never ever have any and if I do it magically disappears.

The cupcake freebie image from Meljens Designs was coloured with promarkers and I then added pearls, and star and round gems to finish it off. I'd like to enter it into their challenge which is fibre, ribbon or lace as well as the City Crafter challenge (pink, purple & pearls), the Kaboodle challenge (anything goes with a hint of purple) and I love digi (anything but a card) .

Ho Ho it's so Hot

It's June, one of the longest and hottest days of the year so I make a Christmas card lol!
Over on the I Did It Creations Forum we've been celebrating Christmas in June and one of the challenges is to make a card with this freebie Gingerbread cutie image by Robyn's Fetish using red green and beige so here it is.

I noticed another couple of Xmas challenges so would like to enter it into those too:

Puffy Poundshop Stickers

Although I have been stash free I did have an emergency budget for the Pound shop. How many times have I kicked myself for not picking something up in there.

These puffy stickers should make at least 6 cards - there are a couple of really cute ones with fairies on. Why didn't I take a pic of the full sheet Doh!

Final Father's Day Card

I'm sure my step dad isn't bothered whether he gets a Father's Day card, if it arrives too early or even a bit late - my mother however is a completely different story. She has been known to complain that I've sent cards early in the past - bless her
The cute little furry guy is a Beary Dust digi called Napping available from Stitchy Bear Stamps - here
I have no idea what the paper is as it was an odd bit from my Xmas stash (see below if you think I've lost the plot lol!)
There are loads of father's day and cards for men challenges around at the moment for some strange reason so I would like to enter it into:
Crafty Cardmakers, Incy Wincy, Cupcake Crafts, Totally Stampalicious, Magical Crafts, C.R.A.F.T and Cards for Men

Flowers for You

I know it's only Tuesday but it's been such a good week so far that I thought I'd send you all some flowers :c)
I received a set of Beariations Stamps that I won as  prize on Teddy Stampers, I made gallery pick of the week on I Did it Creations and something else that was so unimportant that I forget what it was...............
The cat was her usual excited self and managed to briefly open one eye OH was so impressed he managed to roll both his eyes ROFL
Ooohhhh just remembered Stitchy was mad enough to allow me to join the new DT over on One Stitch at  a Time to say I'm looking forward to it would be an understatement...................... waves at Teamies :c)

Purple Trees, Purple Trees!

Another challenge for Xmas in June is to use a die cut so unearthed this Christmas tree Sizzlit when I was actually looking for the Cuttlebug star - mind you saved me trying to cut school kid triangle trees lol!
No Idea why I used purple other than it was the first bit of card in my scrap box that would fit 2 trees on.
The "snow" is pearlescent card embossed with the distressed stripe cuttlebug folder and the strip is the ever popular swiss dots - if I wasn't sticking to my stash diet I would have bought the new dotty ones this week but am determined to stick to it :c) Photobucket

I did it in June!

I'm normally a bit of a Bah Humbug where Christmas is concerned but when I saw this freebie ted was on the I Did It Creations Blog this week I just had to have a play and it's one less I'll have to make in a hurry ;c)

I made an easel card out of my largest scallop nestie (these are the large petite scallop set) and cut some circles out of Papermania Naughty and Nice papers. Ted bringing home the Tree is coloured with promarkers. I've added Sakurs gloss pen to the snow and snowflakes and a gem to his hat but it doesn't show up in the pic.
I pinched the snowflake from my daughters stash added some card candy and a sentiment that was a freebie when I bought the nesties :c)

1 down umpteen to go - maybe I'll start making a couple a month................. I did say maybe

Scraplings

These cute little guys are Scraplings! What are they - well basically they measure 1 1/4 by 4 1/4 inches and use up your odd offcut scraps.
There is a challenge and more info at I Did It Creations as part of the Xmas in June Party.
The papers on the centre and right hand one are Papermania Naughty & Nice ( I have no idea about the other one as it was part of a stash swap). The bear and kitty are from 2 separate freebie sets of stamps that have been free with Cardmaking & Papercrafting Magazine.

Why don't you have a go? I'm hooked lol!
Photobucket

Inchies!

It's Xmas in June this weekend over on the I Did It Forum and one of the multitude of challenges is to make a set of 3 inchies.
These guys are so tiny my fingers were in danger from the blade on my guillotine.

The top 3 are cut from a 2x2 embossing folder called snowflakes on pearlescent card I think decorated with Forever Friends snowflake stickers and gems
The snowmen were on a stamp that I got for 25p from Mad About Cards in one of their legendary sales and cut to size - the sentiment is a High Hopes stamp. I love buys gems in bulk you can use them on everything :c)

Sparkles & Flowers

I could tell you that there's a DT call over on OSAAT but you all already know that coz' you're loyal followers lol! I've decided to apply to earn the images that Stitchy has so kindly been donating to a worthy cause aka me :c)
I do have to confess to buying some envelopes this week but this is a 6x6 card and wouldn't fit in anything I had already.
The card base is Blue-Lilac Core'dinations cardstock that I cut an aperture in with the second largest Peony nestie. The image is the gorgeous Sparkles and the butterflies are very tiny versions of Lexi Creations Butterfly digi coloured with Orchid Promarker with tiny pearls attached.
I don't normally decorate the inside but then again I normally put my image on the front. The Papermania paper has been cut out with Nestie Labels Eight and added another flower 'coz it looked a bit bare.
Close up of the flower detail - this is a new stamp (gasp!) but it doesn't count as stash as it was free with Cardmaking and Papercrafts magazine this month. I've heat embossed to make it easier for me to keep the promarkers between the lines. I wound the wire round a paint brush added a bead and stuck it down using the sticky pads that raise the flowers off the card. I bought the wire to make some jewellery ages ago - another one of my bright ideas at the time.
