Bearing Gifts!

After my mammoth ironing task today I didn't have much time to craft but had had an idea for this project yesterday as a kind of gift box come card.
I would like to enter it into the following challenges:

Lily Boo Too - 1 tag 1 ribbon (the bear on the front is a swing tag attached with a brad)

I made this one in lilac so I could sneak into the current challenge on Just Cute Bears :c)

Mother's Day Take 1

My mother never wants anything for Mother's Day so this year I've gone for the safe option of a gift card (Advantage card was just to make sure the pocket was big enough lol!)

When I saw the Perkabook tutorial on Belles & Whistles I just had to have a go although I forgot the handle and used Nesties Labels 8 as my circles weren't big enough.

I really can't believe my daughter will be 10 on Thursday! So I had to make her a card using the sketch from Totally Papercrafts. I just had to use this image a it's called Abby.

I detest making boys cards and am sooooo glad I invested in the Buzzcraft kit and a die cut decoupage sheet in the recent Mad About Cards Sale

Last Minute Golden Wedding Card

My mother rang me on Wednesday to tell me it was my aunt and uncles Golden Wedding today! Why she couldn't have told me when we spoke on Monday I don't know as she never has anything to tell me lol! Fortunately I got the card in the post Thursday evening.

This month's card swap theme was hearts. I think I may have just about qualified lol!

The ATC swap theme was bling - I so hated sticking these gems on but have now bought some micro dots sheets so expect to see gems everywhere in future.

Health and Safety? No Chance

Nope the guy doing the fire eating is not a midget - he was about 10 at the most!!!

This was the bonfire about 20 feet down the beach - I didn't take any more pics as they started throwing fireworks into the bottom of it and I decided to take cover lol!

Does My Bum Look Big on This?

No trip to India would be complete without elephants - last time we went there was one who used to walk past every morning - funnily enough I didn't believe OH when he told me until I saw it for myself lol!

I really don't know how Hannibal crossed the Alps riding one of these things - either he got a thin one or he had longer legs than me - it's incredibly uncomfortable having your legs stuck out like that and impossible to climb on in any kind of lady like manner.


Just in case you're having trouble identifying it - the one in the grey wrinkly suit is the elephant - LOL!

DD and I both love dolphins - despite seeing about 40 this is the only photo that actually has anything that is big enough to identify in it - glad it wasn't me with the camera!







He did much better with the sea eagle although he had to wait until it landed - it looks quite small here but their wings are about 4 feet across.







The fruit bats were a doddle as they were all asleep lol!


But the really impossible thing to get a picture of was the turtle that was crossing the road in front of the taxi taking us to the airport at 2:30 am Monday morning.

This Time Last Week.................

I was warm lol!

We had a fabulous time and it's soooo great to be back not!
The hotel wasn't the best choice - although it was a lovely place it was inhabited mostly by Brits who go to the same place every year for several weeks so we weren't part of the in crowd (plus about 20 years younger!)

Unfortunately we had to spend most of the time on the beach at one of the beach shacksDD made a friend (yes they have half buried him)
While I relaxed and enjoyed the dreadful view.

In about 48 hours I will be somewhere a bit like this.
This is actually a pic of our breakfast table in the Maldives - what a lucky lucky girl I was - it's the most fabulous and relaxing place in the world.....................
