Valentine!
As we're away for valentine's day this year I thought I would ake my daughter a card as well
in her favourite colours of blue and purple.
The card hasn't come out very well in the picture it's deep blue with a gold sheen on it depending how you hold it to the light.
As it's non traditional colours I'd like to enter it into the Catch the Bug challenge and also the Saturday Challenge as there are hearts on it.
Supplies:
Paper: Makin memories fresh anthology Eliza
Embossing - tiny mosaic
Image - Bugaboo Bear Valentines Basket
Promarkers - Blue Pearl, Orchid, Amethyst, Ivory, Vanilla and Walnut.
Writing - my own LOL!

I'm going on holiday
she sings in a really irritating sing song voice! Our visas finally came this morning so we're off to Goa Sunday week. I can finally get excited now we'd had them rejected once as we didn't have a signed letter from my daughter's dad! How easy it to get one of them from an ex - fortunately we get on better now than we ever did.
Hopefully we'll be able to ride on an elephant like we did in 2007 and you can apparently see dolphins swimming off the beach near where we're staying.
Wonder if I'll be able to pick up any crafting goodies while I'm there. Came back with an engagement ring last time lol!

Cute Bear for a Cute Bear Challenge!
The first challenge over at Just Cute Bears is "One for the girls" so I thought I'd played it safe with pink and lilac and use up the offcuts from the easel box I made during the week.
The sketch is from Moving Along With the Times with the added option of digi.
I've had the papers for years and think they came from a craft fair at Doncaster. The super cute image is from Bugaboo and coloured with antique pink, orchid, vanilla, caramel and burnt sienna promarkers

Yet Another Card!
I'm trying to get ahead for February as fingers crossed we will be away for most of the month :c)
I really liked the sketch this time on Sunday Sketch and Stamp and as it was for my aged Aunt I was just going to do the flowers. Rummaging for the tulip stamp I found this tiny bear who insisted on jumping on lol!
Papers - Papermania
Embossing - script folder
Images - Tulips from Ebay, Teddy free with Cardmaking and Papercraft Mag
Promarkers - Aubergine, holly and caramel

Beary Big Hugs!
My favourite things (other than bears of course) at the moment are the free My Mind's Eye papers that I got with Cardmaking and Papercrafting magazine and this Belles & Whistles stamp called Beary Big hugs which I ordered direct from them rather than waiting for it to be in stock here.
This time I coloured her with Antique Pink, Cocoa, Caramel, Vanilla, Ivory and Blush Promarkers for the Papertake Weekly Challenge.

Blue & Green................
(and white) should never be seen - according to my mother (it's the current challenge on Fab n Funky) and I'd never used this combo before but had been itching to use this stamp since it arrived all the way from Hawaii during the week. Plus I'd also treated myself to some peony Nestabilities.
Paper - My Mind's Eye free with cardmaking and papercrafting.
Sentiment - Little Claires peel off

Promarkers - Soft green, Denim blue, Tan, Vanilla, Primrose Yellow, Ivory & Blush

Easel Box Instructions
Rainmac has asked for some instructions for the Easel card box so here you go!
These sizes will make a 4 x4 inch box with a depth of an inch and a lid depth of 1/2 an inch
Cut a 6x6 square for the box base and a 5 and a little bit square for the lid.
For the easel cut a 4x4 square and a 4x8 rectangle
Score an inch from the edge on the box base on each side and half an inch on the lid.
Score the rectangle at 2 inches and 4 inches and crease to make the easel card support.
Cut a triangle as per pic out of each corner so it folds up into a box shape.
Decorate and assemble the easel card
Decorate the sides of the box (it's easier when it's flat) - I've only done the top but it's up to you and stick the base of the easel card onto the top of the box - I used DST but you could glue it.
Make up the box using glue of choice on the little flappy bits and put the lid on - it will be slightly bigger than the base
See post below for finished item

Is it a card? or is it a box?
Yes would be the answer to both questions!
I love the way easel cards stand up and had another one of my strange ideas - plus my husband bought me a scorpal for xmas that I hadn't really used - however did I manage without it? LOL!
I used punched flowers rather than prima ones so I could enter the Creative Card Crew challenge.

Just A Cute Bear
Rainmac very kindly pointed me in the direction of the new Just Cute Bears Challenge. They wanted me to pick my fave bear!! How on earth could I pick just one without all the others sulking??? So I used the first one I bought years ago to stop them fighting lol!
The papers are English Stamp company and the flowers came from Mad About Cards in their sale. He's coloured with Vanilla, Tan and Caramel promarkers.

Bugaboo Bears!
I found these fabulous bears after a wander through blogland and just had to buy them. They're from a new company called Bugaboo. Check their blog for a cute rabbit freebie and a mini challenge.
The first card uses the current sketch from Allsorts and Lily Boo Too has a love theme (the sentiment actually says with love but it reflected badly from the flash! Papers are Sweet Nothings from Papermania and the flowers are an EK sucess retro flower punch which came from Papermaze and only arrived this morning.
The second card uses a lovely sketch from Scrap, Paper, Scissors which is the Papermaze shop blog where I bought the Cactus Pink papers from (have a look at their clearance section) It's a thank you card which I would like to enter for the current Bee Crafty Challenge and also for the Fab n Funky challenge which is anything goes.

More snow!
I'm so fed up with this white stuff! After braving it to the shops yesterday my husband took pity on me and offered to drive me to work and even agreed to pick me up again!- glad he did as it was a tad slippery.
It started snowing on the way back and was throwing it down at school chucking out time - how does the weather manage to do it???
Has been a lot warmer here today checked mother in law was ok and they've been iced in for 2 weeks, it was -12 at 4 in the afternoon and they don't even live in the sticks!
