Christening Card Mark 2

This was the card I should have been making yesterday for my friends grandson- it's also the card that very nearly ended up in the round recepticle!!!! I've never done cut it out yourself decoupage and that turned out to be the easy bit lol!
As you'll have noticed it doesn't close properly but looks ok to me. The string was an afterthought to cover up where I'd put the sentiment on at the wrong angle and it marked the paper but I really like that now.
I only used 3 of the layers as I didn't want to tempt fate and lose any important bits lol!
The real disaster was the box - measure twice and cut once - did that so how did I end up with a box where the bottom didn't fit the card and a lid that was half an inch bigger than the bottom but still didn't fit the card???? So i had to start again - this time I made the bottom and checked it fitted before I did anything else.

If my friend doesn't like it I might just make her eat it lol!
Hugs,
Debbie xx

LOL if you find the answer to "how that happened" make sure you share the answer cos I's like to know too!! I just don't get how I measure at least twice and still end up with the same problem as you!

Fantastic card Debbie, I love the image. Decoupage and me don't mix, far too fiddly and time consuming! Thank you for sharing with us at Cards for Men, good luck with the challenge x

Your card is lovely despite all the "challenges" you faced making it, I have had many similar crafting sessions and full waste paperbins!
I love the string with the shipshape knots (!) it's perfect for a seaside card, or any type of card for the fashionable look :-)
Thank you for joining in with Opus Gluei.
